The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities invites qualified applicants to apply for Safe Routes to Schools grant funding. These reimbursable grants can be used for planning, infrastructure or non-infrastructure, or single project grants to other state agencies, municipalities, non-profit and tribal entities for projects and activities related to program goals and objectives. Grant amounts for planning activities are limited to $15,000 per school site. Grant amounts for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects are limited by total funding availability. The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to obtain comments from surrounding businesses and the general public for the intersection improvement project on Route 7 at Skyline Drive. The project limits will extend along Route 7 from New Linden Hill Road to Ferris Drive and will include work on Skyline Drive. The workshop will be held on Monday, June, 25, 2012 at Skyline Middle School, 2900 Skyline Drive in Wilmington.
