The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will once again make travel easier for motorists this Fourth of July holiday by lifting traffic restrictions on 100 of 155 projects statewide. Beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, and continuing until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 5, MDOT will suspend construction wherever possible on state roads and bridges. However, normal construction lane restrictions will be in place on the weekends before and after the July Fourth holiday. The open house will be an opportunity for the Department to provide information on project planning activities to date and to give the public an opportunity to ask questions and provide the Department with comments. DOT&PF is proposing to rehabilitate and repair Fritz Cove Road in Juneau, Alaska. Fritz Cove Road pavement, culverts, and guardrail have reached the end of their useful service life and are in need of replacement. Portions of the pavement indicate embankment failure which would need repair. The existing two-foot shoulder does not provide adequate room for pedestrians and bicyclists.
