Michigan Launches Main Street Makeover

The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to obtain comments from surrounding businesses and the general public for the intersection improvement project on Route 7 at Skyline Drive. The project limits will extend along Route 7 from New Linden Hill Road to Ferris Drive and will include work on Skyline Drive. The workshop will be held on Monday, June, 25, 2012 at Skyline Middle School, 2900 Skyline Drive in Wilmington. The public is invited to attend anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The project was a product of the 2010 Hazard Elimination Program (HEP). Designated as site C, the HEP report called for an extension of the left-turn lanes in both the northbound and southbound direction along Route 7. Sidewalks on Skyline Drive will also be reconstructed and will meet ADA continue

The Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) use of social media to communicate with motorists continues with the launch of a YouTube video on the reconstruction of M-150 (Rochester Road/Main Street) in downtown Rochester. The reconstruction of Rochester Road/Main Street is part of a $7.6 million investment that includes pavement and sidewalk replacement, utility upgrades and new landscaping between 2nd Street and University Drive. This section of M-150 closed to traffic on May 15 and is expected to fully open to traffic in mid-July. All work on the project is expected to open in November. Remaining work, which will be done under lane closures, includes reconstruction of M-150 between the Paint Creek and Clinton River bridges continue

The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that access roads near the Indian River Inlet Bridge will open prior to the busy July 4th holiday weekend. The contractor, George & Lynch, is currently completing the paving on the access from SR 1 northbound to the Day Use Parking Lot located on the southeast side of the bridge. The placement of pavement markings on the new access road will start Wednesday, June 27 and be completed within two days. Once the contractor has completed their work and made the area surrounding the roadway safe for use, it will be opened to the general public. It is important to note that this work will have minimal impact on those currently accessing the area, and no impact to users of Route 1 northbound. The opening of the access road will mark the end to all major roadway detours required for the Indian River Inlet Bridge and Roadway Approach/Demolition projects. There is some work planned for this fall, such as placement of the final pavement surface on the southbound lanes north and south of the bridge and the connector road under the new bridge. Other minor work continue
