A Centreville woman was flown to a Kalamazoo hospital Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash in St. Joseph County that also injured a family of four, authorities said. Carol Ann Walls failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of M-86 and Nottawa Road in Nottawa Township at 7:08 p.m. and collided with an eastbound vehicle occupied by Brian and Ashley Rosen, of Three Rivers, and the couple’s two sons, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Walls was flown from the scene to Borgess Medical Center. The Rosens and their two sons were taken to Three Rivers Health after the crash. Updates on the condition of Walls and the Rosens were not immediately available this morning. Deputies said they are continuing to investigate the crash. A Wisconsin woman and her adult son were killed in separate traffic crashes just hours apart in a Milwaukee suburb, police say. Mary J. Moore, 45, died after she was struck by a vehicle on a street in West Allis around 1 a.m. Sunday. Separately, a friend was speeding her son, Thomas M. Olson, 22, to the hospital to see her when he struck three parked cars and overturned, West Allis Deputy Chief Charles Padgett said. Olson was killed in the crash about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. The driver of the car Olson was riding in was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He and two other passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Moore was hit as she lay prone in the street. A motorist following the car that struck her told police it looked as though the vehicle hit a speed bump, according to the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s report. A Sturgis man was thrown from his motorcycle late Wednesday after he swerved to miss a deer on Banker Street in St. Joseph County’s Sherman Township, authorities said. Michael S. Ritter, 33, was riding east on Banker near Zabel Shores Road at 11:39 p.m. when a deer ran in to the road, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Ritter, who was wearing a helmet, was able to avoid hitting the deer but lost control of his 2005 Honda motorcycle and was thrown to the pavement. Ritter and the motorcycle “went about 70 (feet) before coming to rest,” according to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office. Ritter suffered cuts and road rash “but was able to get up under his own power,” deputies said. Ritter’s helmet had scrapes and gouges continue
