Vehicle Impounded With No Driver License



                                                                

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — A proposed ordinance could allow police officers to impound a vehicle if the driver has a suspended, revoked, expired or no driver’s license. The Montgomery Advertiser reports that the Montgomery City Council public safety committee voted 4-1, sending the ordinance to the full council. If another driver in the car has a license, that person would be allowed to drive the car and it wouldn’t be towed. City Councilman Glen Pruitt says the driver or owner would have to pay a $200 administrative fee, $75 to have the vehicle towed and $25 per day fee to store the car at the impound continue
                                                      
The Romeoville Police Department made the following arrests:
Michael Schultz, 31, 220 Murphy Drive, Romeoville, arrested at about 8:10 p.m. July 22 in the 700 block of Newland Avenue and charged with battery and criminal damage to property. He was also arrested for criminal damage to property in the 300 block of Macon Avenue at 2:40 a.m. July 23.
Gordon McLelland, 32, 908 E. 7th St., Metropolis, arrested at about 8:10 July 22 in the 700 block of Newland Avenue and charged with aggravated assault, battery, criminal damage to property and unlawful use of a weapon. Jacob Henderson, 18, 19315 Janet Ave., Lockport, arrested continue
Alabama State Troopers confirm the person behind the wheel in a a roll-over accident north of Athens was 14 years old and did not have a license.
The single vehicle crash sent three people to the hospital Sunday evening, just before 6 p.m.
A woman standing in her front yard says she saw it happen, after the SUV approached a curve on Slate Road at a high speed. Pat Bedding field said, “I’d say in excess of 70 miles per hour. He lost control on this curve and tried to correct himself. And that’s when he started to flip and landed in my driveway.”
She says she saw one passenger thrown out the back window. She rushed to help continue
