2012 Fatal Car Accidents



In the deadliest day on South Florida streets and highways in recent memory, 10 people and an unborn baby were killed in vehicle-related accidents in the 24-hour period from late Saturday to Sunday night.
The deadliest of the crashes left four people dead in a fiery head-on collision on the Gratigny Expressway in Northwest Miami-Dade early Sunday, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez.

The accident happened near Avenue A in Galloway Township where police say the driver, of an eastbound Pontiac Sun fire crossed the center line around 9 a.m. and crashed head on into a 2011 Chevy Tahoe owned by Atlantic County and driven by Darren Dooley from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s office. The Tahoe overturned. Police say Dooley was injured and taken to the hospital, the driver of the Pontiac Sun fire, Vanessa L. English of Galloway Township, was pronounced dead at the scene.
