Man Loses his Driving License in a Deal



38-year-old Latino man from Asheville has told Hickory police he lost $740 Monday night in a deal to get a driver’s license, according to the Hickory Daily Record. The man said he set up a deal with a man who called himself Chris. The two were to meet at the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Hickory on Monday evening, but the Asheville man said Chris disappeared with the money after walking around the back of the office. The victim was able to give police the license tag number of the car that Christ was driving. “Potentially, there’s criminal activity on both ends of this thing,” Hickory police Capt.
