The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) was today awarded a $148,500 grant by the US Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The funding from FAA is for Aviation System Planning for Delaware. The grant was solicited by DelDOT’s Office of Aeronautics to fund the cost of developing a business plan for the Sussex County Airport near Georgetown, and to develop an economic impact assessment of aviation development statewide. The next phase of road construction on the Interstate 380/U.S. 20 project in Evansdale will include changes in traffic patterns and on/off ramp access according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s New Hampton Construction Office. Starting Wednesday morning, Aug. 1, weather permitting; traffic will change out of a two-lane/two-way pattern in the northbound lanes. Traffic will now move in the outside lanes of both the northbound and newly reconstructed southbound lanes of I-380 while the inside lanes remain closed. This next phase of construction will also allow for the opening of the southbound on/off ramps at River Forest Road and Black Hawk County Road V-49 (Raymond Road). The Iowa DOT would like to remind motorists that with only one lane open in each direction, delays are still likely in the work zone and if possible, drivers should find an alternate route continue
