The Iowa Department of Transportation says that published reports of an online driver’s license renewal system taking effect on July 1 are wrong. Kim Snook says that Senate File 2238, which contained a provision that allowed the Iowa DOT to begin such a system on July 1, was vetoed on May 25. Snook adds that because online renewal is more convenient and cost effective, they are exploring options that may allow them to establish a system in the future continue

Hundreds of drivers found a painfully long wait at the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Georgia’s new drivers’ license requirements had them waiting in line for upwards of six hours just to renew. The new rules require drivers to not only renew in person, but also require you need to bring a lot more paperwork as proof of your identity.
